Internship Opportunities

 

Recovering Hands  offers multiple internship positions for students of recreational therapy, equine therapy, job development, fundraising, public relations, program coordinating and more. Business Development Coordinator

Interns will contribute to identifying, planning and implementing marketing strategies, collaborate with representatives from other recovery centers, increase referral connections and maintain a working knowledge of market and recovery programming segments.

At least ten hour/week commitment required. Must submit resume with detailed work experience.

Current undergraduate and graduate students in recreational therapy, equine therapy, job development, fundraising, public relations, program coordinating, communication, marketing, and related fields are encouraged to apply.  This is a perfect opportunity to complete an internship.  This is an unpaid internship.

Equine Therapist

Interns will assist in Recovering Hands life skills programs working with staff to coordinate and manage mounted and unmounted activities as well as provide volunteer support.

At least ten hour/week commitment required. Must submit resume with detailed work experience.

Current undergraduate and graduate students in recreational therapy, equine therapy, job development, fundraising, public relations, program coordinating, communication, marketing, and related fields are encouraged to apply.  This is a perfect opportunity to complete an internship.  This is an unpaid internship.

Recreational Therapist

Fundraising/Public Relations Coordinator:

Gain experience in working with a community-based organization around environmental health and social issues.  Job responsibilities may include:

  •       Identifying funding opportunities; Writing and submitting grant applications
  •      Writing press releases
  •      Developing press kits, newsletters, feature articles, website content, and event listings
  •      Establishing and maintaining relationships with journalists
  •      Scheduling events, programs, and activities

At least ten hour/week commitment required. Must submit resume with detailed work experience and writing sample.

Program Coordinator:

Gain experience in working with a community-based recovery organization.  Job responsibilities may include:

  •      Developing outreach material related to sustaining on-going recovery
  •      Disseminating educational material to diverse communities
  •     Coordinating meetings with Recovering Hands programming partners
  •     Assisting with ongoing activities

At least ten hour/week commitment required. Must submit resume with detailed work experience.

Equine and Farm Management

Opportunities to learn hands-on skills relating to equine and bovine management including breeding, daily care, health care and first aid, feeding practices and handling. Also, farm management techniques and skills including fence mending, barn maintenance, manure handling and effective pasture utilization.

At least ten hour/week commitment required. Must submit resume with detailed work experience.
